SEO or Search Engine Optimization is a method that can be very confusing to those who do not understand how it works. They see the phrases “SEO”top of page” and assume that these things are important to their site’s ranking in search engines. Unfortunately, it is not as simple as this. There are a number of factors that go into the calculation of how well a website is doing and of course, there are many different metrics that are used in calculating these.
Exit rates are a very useful metric to know because they are directly related to your efforts on getting backlinks and to understand more about SEO, you should look at exit rates. This is the percentage of times that visitors to your site actually leave your site before visiting another. Obviously, if they only leave for a short period of time, then your exit rate will be very low. If the exit rate is high, this means that your site has high quality content and is drawing more visitors. These visitors are very likely to stay on your site after they have arrived.
While the exit rate is useful for some purposes, it is often much better to look at the average bounce rate of visitors. Bounce rate is the number of visits to your site over a given period of time. Obviously, it is more useful to look at averages rather than counts since your site may get extremely high bounce rates but if your average bounce rate is low, you can be confident that your site is getting a lot of traffic. Of course, the use of the metrics above helps to provide you with more information about your SEO efforts and shows you the best way to optimize your SEO efforts.
